Flow Assurance

​Flow Assurance

Our goal in Flow Assurance is to optimize recovery and enhance production over the life of field through the application of suitable strategies and philosophies to prevent solid deposition and operational constraints. The key principles that are consistently applied in each assessment are:
​
  • Understanding of PVT behavior of the fluid(s);
  • Identifying the various modes of operation and the conditions they impose on the production system; and
  • Applying suitable strategies or philosophies to prevent solid deposition and undesirable shutdowns, and therefore, to maintain flow throughout the production cycle.

​Design and operational issues of a system, such as solid deposition and distributed flow behaviour, and the conditions under which they occur, can be predicted using engineering experience, research and development, and modern steady state, thermodynamic and transient simulation tools.
​

Solids deposits such as wax, hydrates, asphaltenes, scale and emulsions, and problems associated with multiphase flow behaviour, such as slugging and erosion, are highlighted as being some of the main challenges facing deepwater field developments and operations in the industry today.
​
Our overall objective of flow assurance is to keep the flow path open, maintain the production throughout the operating life of the field with minimal downtime for remedial work.

Operations Support

We provide operational support to a variety of system types from onshore gathering systems to deep water production and injection networks with the objective of preventing downtime and hence lost revenue. The support we provide includes:

Field Development Planning

Field Development Planning

Field Development Planning requires a multi-discipline approach, which considers reservoir performance, well phasing, field architecture, flow assurance, production facilities and operating philosophies to strike a balance between ultimate recovery and cost, all while maintaining operational flexibility and managing risk.

We like to get involved at the Concept phase so that we can provide the most influence on design and operating philosophies, and hence provide the highest return on investment, which is a process made complex by the wide range of engineering discipline inputs, the large numbers of options available and the abundance of highly uncertain influencing factors.

We aim to evolve and conceptualize options and alternatives from the early stage of feasibility, which ensures that a field development matrix of credible options is developed for costing, screening and selection.
Subsea Systems

Subsea Systems

We apply our knowledge of Flow Assurance and Operability to develop components within the intended architecture so that they are not only functional, but they are constructable and installable as a whole. We utilize a cross-discipline systems approach to ensure maximum reliability and efficiency in the design and operation.

We have a experience in the design, analysis, procurement and delivery of ​wide range of components related to subsea production, export, water injection and artificial lift systems. They often include:
